Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival has come and gone, and now we get to enjoy all the released photos of this year's fashion. I compiled a list of my favorite dresses from the festivities.

Jessica Chastain, in custom Givenchy Haute Couture.
I'll be honest, I'm super biased because I have mad love for Jessica and desperately want her hair. Girl crushes aside, this dress is killer. The color is fantastic, the cut compliments her body type perfectly, and the beading is visually interesting without being distracting. I couldn't see her makeup in any of the images, but I'm sure it was perfect because she is perfect. Sigh.

Liu Wen, in Roberto Cavalli, with Chopard jewels.
Normally I'm a hater when it comes to see-through dresses with tiny skirts underneath, but something about this dress makes me really like it. It might be the unusual lines-and-diamonds lace pattern that proved refreshing amidst the stream of baroque and flowery lace dresses on other attendies. The model's insanely rockin' body and face definitely helped, though. Even the woman behind Wen is like daaannnggg gurrl.

Araya A. Hargate, in Salvatore Ferragamo.
I enjoy this dress for the same reason as Liu's; it was a different and fun take on all the metalics everyone wore at Cannes. Most of the metal worn during the shows was very tight and very boring. This was a little Gatsby, a little showgirl, and a lot of sass.

Eva Longoria, in Zuhair Murad Couture, with Damiani jewels.
I know I said all the flowery romantic dresses were boring in Liu's comment, but the color of this Zuhair Murad gown compliments her skin and makeup so beautifully I had to include it. Not to mention it shows of her booty magnificently.

Louise Bourgoin, in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture.
I love the wrapped bodice of this dress. The poofy skirt was also really fun and a nice change from all the trailing gowns everyone else wore. White is very in this season and the blue accessories were a nice touch. I don't know who she is, but I like her style. Not super into the big side hair (how is she doing that? Pins? A side braid? And why does her hair start out straight and sleek and turn huge and curly? And WHY? So many questions left unanswered).

Ziyi Zhang, in Carolina Herrera, with Chanel jewels and a Jimmy Choo clutch.
I can't quite pinpoint why I like this gown so much, but I do. It's all artsy and beautiful without being awkward. Plus she is stunning and that necklace is completely perfect for the neckline. SO MUCH LOVE for this dress.

Cara Delevingne, in Burberry, with Chopard jewels.
Last but absolutely not least is Cara. Obviously I don't have to explain why this is on the list. All I can say is Hail Mary Jesus that girl is hot. No wonder Leo was trying to get in on some action. Apparently he was turned down, however, though I'm not all that surprised. If I ever looked that hot I would just wander around basking in my hotness and not giving anyone time. You go Cara, be all independant and fierce.
