Holiday Gift Guide-Boyfriend

It can be stressful to find a gift for that special someone in your life. Boys are easy to shop for, just expand their wardrobes!

BOYFRIEND

1) Prepare for a night out. Treat your boy with a pair of tickets to his favorite sporting event. Go out to dinner before and call it a date!

2) Add a new staple to his wardrobe this holiday season. Get him a classic sweater that will go with everything. They never go out of style!

3) A boy’s wallet is his life within leather pockets. Everything he needs on a daily basis goes in and out of it so why not update it? Buy your boy a new leather wallet and toss the old ratty one from eighth grade!

Holiday Gift Guide-BFF

Your bestie deserves only the best this holiday season.

BEST FRIEND

1) Make a batch of peppermint bark and put a handful in a festive cellophane bag. Add a cute ribbon and you’ve got yourself a personal and homemade holiday greeting for your best friends. Extra points if you throw a baking party and make it together.

2) A cute lip-gloss and a $10 Sephora gift card never goes unappreciated! A gift card means she can pick out her shade, scent, or brand of preference and you don’t have to make the decision. It’s a Win-Win!

3) Don't let the cold keep you and your friends from having fun. Give your best friends a coupon redeemable for a GIRLS NIGHT complete with popcorn, movies, nails, and snacks. Pick out a few new nail polish shades and get ready for a night of pampering!

Holiday Gift Guide-Dad

Yesterday was all about giving back to the woman who gave you life, but now it is dear old Dad's turn. Spoil your Pops with one of these great gifts!

DAD

1) A tie is standard, but a scarf is new! Give dad a classic plaid scarf to compliment his wool pea coat in the morning. It’s our job to keep them in fashion!

2) A newly renewed subscription to his favorite magazine seems boring but it’s guaranteed to be appreciated.  Look through dad’s pile and check the frequent titles. Sometimes the simple gifts are the most meaningful!

3) Keep him looking forward to summer, replace last seasons grill ware. After a season or two of hard grilling there’s nothing like a new set of tools to keep summer in sight!

The Holidays are here and the ever-daunting task of finding the perfect gifts for all of those special to you is upon us!

Here is your four part cheat sheet to giving this season. Check back everyday for ideas for a special someone.

MOM

1) Who doesn’t love a warm cup of coffee on a wintery evening? Surprise mom with a fun mug and a quality roast coffee of her choice this Holiday season. She’ll be thanking you as she curls up on the couch!

2) Treat mom to a nice pair of leather gloves. They are fashionable and functional for the winter season. Try them in a bright color to bring a splash of color to her winter wardrobe!

3) Take yourself on a trip to Bath & Body Works and while you’re there pick something up for mom! A gift basket full of lotions and body scrubs in assorted Holiday scents will surely impress her. After all, there’s no better time for a bubble bath than the dead of winter!

4) Make decorating for the Holidays a delight with a new Christmas CD for mom’s collection. No one minds a few new tunes in the mix after a month of hearing them on the radio!

Holiday Dresses Make the Cut

Cut outs are all the rage right now. Strategically placed holes showing just the right amount of skin are sexy, yet classy. Think Tantalizing Temptress not Skanky Stripper. Here are some examples:

Consider this dress training wheels. It is a gorgeous color with a beautiful drape. The surprise little cutout in the back makes it exciting without being too bare.

This dress is a bit more daring. Body con, lace, and a semi-bare back amp up the sex-appeal. The black keeps things from going over the edge.

This number is not for the faint of heart! The shimmery material and short, tight fit are perfect for New Years. The cutout adds style bonus points, while the one long sleeve balances the bareness.

Pair with the perfect heels and you are all set for the holidays!

Its a bird, its a plane...its a fashionista!

Capes are not just for superheroes anymore! They are for supermoms, superstars, and superfashionistas. Capes are a huge trend this fall. Everyone is sporting them.

A favorite is Leighton Meester in a gleeful green number. She looks stunning with yellow pop accessories. A neutral navy scarf and gloves anchor the ensemble.

The cape to covet this season is by none other than Rachel Zoe. Sophisticated, elegant, classy, its right on the mark with rich camel colored wool, black leather piping, and big gold buttons. A girl can dream....

Capes are chic and stylish outerwear that gives off the most ladylike aura. Pair them with tall boots and a smart topper, and you are ready for winter. For an affordable option check out American Eagle Outfitters.

The Color Wheel

The color wheel is a great tool to use when deciding what colors to wear together on those days you just wake up a little too late for class that morning.

Here’s how to use it:

You can make the following combos using the color wheel as your guide:
1.    Colors directly next to each other (i.e. yellow and yellow-orange; yellow and yellow-green; violet and blue-violet, etc.)
2.       Colors that form right (90 degree) angles with each other (i.e. yellow and red-orange; blue and violet-red; green and orange, etc.)

3.      Colors directly across from each other (i.e. yellow and violet; blue and orange; red and green, etc.)
4.      Colors that form a T (i.e. blue, orange, and violet-red; yellow, violet, and red-orange; yellow, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)

5.      Colors that form an X (i.e. blue, orange, violet-red, and yellow, violet, blue-green, and red-orange, etc.)
So, if you are running late for class or just in a hurry to get somewhere and you don’t have enough time to look your absolute best; the color guide will help you wear the right colors that look great together to help you feel beautiful and ready for the day!
