Find Inspiration Around the World

Study abroad students definitely get to find fashion inspiration in unexpected ways.
Here we have an example of a traditional dance outfit from Costa Rica. The separate elements can be worked for bold fashion results. (For an on-campus example of rocking the red jeans, see the November post “Street Style”)

This is a great site for searching “red jeans” or “white lace top”

P.S. Every heard of the “Red Effect”? Women wearing red are perceived as more attractive and men in red as more dominant.

Artistic Afternoon

Looking for somewhere interesting to visit on a lazy weekend afternoon? Definitely check out “Edo Pop: The Graphic Impact of Japanese Prints” exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. The art is a new twist on old classic Japanese art plus the exhibit is free for students with a valid ID! There are 160 different artists featured in this exhibit with about 4 rooms full of contemporary woodblock prints and even a six-minute anime style mini video. The institute is an excellent place to go and spend a couple of hours walking the various galleries, and Edo Pop is a must see for any art lover.
